“Unripe Yoshi” for QPop Bros vs. Bros art show

Unripe Yoshi
I’m super honored to have been invited to participate in QPop’s “Bros vs Bros” art show, focusing on Super Mario Bros and the Shaw Bros. Growing up on Nintendo, I couldn’t pass up making fan art of some favorite foes turning the tables on Mario! Leave it to a koopa to put an unripe Yoshi egg in a [?] block.

Spirits for G-G-GHOSTS! Art Show

BOO! I made a series of tiny paintings for the G-G-GHOSTS! show at Meltdown comics! The show runs from February 7th until the 14th. I had so much fun working with Microns on these!

Animations for Six Flags’ Holiday in the Park

This year I had the pleasure of creating animations that were incorporated into the “Rockin’ Universe” light shows at Six Flags Magic Mountain! There are three 5-minute shows, which blink and flash over 42,000 lights across multiple buildings and a Christmas tree.

Lighting wizard Zach Moore did all the lighting design and programming for the three shows — he gets credit for making the whole thing come to life; I only supplied animation sequences. People really like it! I got all warm and fuzzy inside when everyone applauded at the end. It was quite a fun experience to animate on my computer and see it up across the buildings just a few minutes later!

This dazzling display is in the DC Universe of Six Flags Magic Mountain, should you decide to experience it alongside roller coasters 🙂

Dapper figure drawing!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted an update– so here is some figure drawing from Center Stage Gallery!
While things have been silent on this blog, I’ve been hard at work doing freelance animation for a variety of projects — a webseries, a documentary, even a theme park! 😀 More news soon…ish?

Pee-Wee’s Wallet

I’m super excited to be a part of Paging Mr. Herman: A Pee-Wee Herman Art Retrospective! On display from July 19-25th, 2014, the Nerdist showroom at Meltdown Comics will have a million, billion, trillion pieces of Pee-Wee inspired art! I recreated his wallet, complete with images and cards of his past. All illustrations were made with watercolor and markers, and the wallet’s cover was painted with acrylic. See you there!
