Drew this guy during sketchgroup last summer; last night decided to paint him with watercolors. I’ve got some watercolor uploads to catch up on, so stay tuned 🙂

Bunny with a Button

Oil Pastel Blending Secret
Sometimes when working with oil pastel on a toothy paper, you’ve got delicate color shifts that unfortunately don’t sink into the paper’s tooth. Generally applying a lot more oil pastel would be the solution; but that can sometimes ruin the original colors that were laid down.
Fear no more! Pilot’s FriXion erasable pens have rubber “erasers” (no more than a little rubber nub). These blend oil pastel brilliantly! The rubber nub for erasing (it’s called FriXion because it removes the ink via friction) never seems to wear down. Keep some newspaper handy so you can clean it off from color to color.

Dearest Pilot FriXion magic oil pastel blender, you’re now part of my art arsenal.

Sydney City
I took this photo two years ago, but just now tweaked its colors for a palette. Thought it was worth sharing!
I painted shirts!
I tackled two T-shirts with acrylic paint today. Take that, bland shirts!

Yes, I do commissions 🙂

Cartoon-YOU! Superstyle

Now you can order a super-unique, extremely-stylized portrait of YOU! (Or anyone you want, for the matter!) Simply email or link me to a face shot that you want illustrated, and in return you’ll receive a high-quality digital copy (300dpi, 8″x8″) and for a nominal fee, a print-out of the cartoon YOU!
Pineapple City & the Curious Contraption
In the event that I couldn’t complete Who Do Voodoo on time, I wanted to do a little stop-motion backup film. So I ended up with two films in the Open Show this year!
Shot with a Canon Powershot and a limited amount of Play-Doh that wanted to have its own way! (At least the light and Curious Contraption behaved).
Up, Up, and Away!
Look out! Space slugs on the loose! I’m trying out this Flash-color-only animation thing; results are really fast (well, for something simple like this, at least). Going to try to do at least an animation a week over summer, just to keep in practice 🙂
