As artists, we can put infinite work and detail into tiny or large portions of the canvas. However, it’s the application of artistic knowledge that directs the attention of the viewer. In this example, the part with absolutely no work (a square left white) hogs all the attention, when all the work went into the colorful squares (which even have patterns of color theory, if you look carefully).

Guitar Synesthesia
Oooo here’s one I forgot to upload at the start of the semester– originally colored it for the Character Gallery Show. The orange stuff in the background is what electric guitars look like when I hear them. I’ll do more pieces on synesthesia this summer!

Pick your Poison

So the other day I went to the cafeteria for a cup of tea. “With Healthy Antioxidants” was the claim of my tea of choice.
Now, naturally people prefer to be healthy, even though they may choose to consume greasy bags of chips and the like.
But aren’t antioxidants healthy in the first place?
So why even MENTION that they’re healthy if it’s already a well-known fact?
Because of ADVERTISING!
So now I ask– if they’re advertising healthy drinks as being “healthy”, and if– in a hypothetical situation, there were two versions of the same poison (let’s say Arsenic)… One being slightly less lethal than the other, would it be advertised as “healthy” arsenic? Would people purchase it because it was “healthy”, even though Arsenic is a well-known poison?
Probably!
And that was the random thought of the day.
On another note, films are all turned in…. YAAAAAY relaxation!
It is FINISHED!

Well, the animation part, that is. I’ll show y’all what a human being is capable of doing in 18 days when it comes to COLORING! (to be fair, 18 scenes are already completed).

47 scenes! WHOOO!
Countdown, Round 2
As of this moment, there are exactly 51162 minutes left until films are due!
That’s merely 35 days!
AAAAAaaAAAAaAAAAHHH!H!hh1H!!1!!!oneone!1!!
This time last year I was much further along– then again, I didn’t have an extra minute worth of animation, either! I’d say that this time around, I’ve completed more by this time than I had at this time last year. I have all but 4 scenes animated; all dialogue’s recorded, all the frames are cleaned up and I’m currently in the process of timing them out and figuring out the compositing. After this comes a smattering of coloring and layouts! eek! I have good faith that I can get it all done– under one condition: That I don’t sleep!
May the caffeine commence!

Wiener Mobile sighting!
“We’ve got a special treat for you tomorrow, Albertson’s shoppers! The Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile will be here!”
Oh boy, mark your calendars. This was an event not to be missed! In fact, I think this is the biggest event Fallbrook’s had in… forever.

Sweet license plate– IWSHIWR… I wish I were!

The inside looked mustard-and-ketchuppy; lotsa yellow and red with a sky pattern on the ceiling!

They gave me free stickers, which are now proudly displayed on the front of my sketchbook.
That concludes the adventures of the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile to the Albertson’s in Fallbrook!
The Most Amazing Plasma Tree
Shot this vid before taking down the lights. Too many lights? Pah! No such thing. You can never EVER overdecorate a Christmas Tree. It simply cannot be done.
We even had a Christmas Table this year…

Hah, we win for biggest fire hazard!
