All these ink drawings were made for the 2012 CalArts Character Animation Open Gallery show. You can see them all here! Each was drawn with India ink on either a love or money scroll, which could be found at World Market. The outsides of the scrolls (visible on one edge) were screen-printed with beautiful colors and textures.

Motion Track Handicam Effect for Animation
Sometimes animated films can feel a little too “animationey” in their cinematography, with perfectly smooth camera moves and still holds. With the magic of After Effects and a 24fps handheld video cam (if your cell phone can handle it, go for it), you can make still shots feel like they were shot on a handicam.
Up, Up, and Away!
Look out! Space slugs on the loose! I’m trying out this Flash-color-only animation thing; results are really fast (well, for something simple like this, at least). Going to try to do at least an animation a week over summer, just to keep in practice 🙂
