{"id":636,"date":"2009-01-31T00:08:24","date_gmt":"2009-01-31T08:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tahnee.org\/wordpress\/2009\/01\/31\/oliver-and-friends-or-foes\/"},"modified":"2009-01-31T00:08:24","modified_gmt":"2009-01-31T08:08:24","slug":"oliver-and-friends-or-foes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tahnee.org\/wordpress\/2009\/01\/31\/oliver-and-friends-or-foes\/","title":{"rendered":"Oliver and Friends (&#8230;or Foes)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"http:\/\/tahnee.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/oliverblog.jpg\" alt=\"olivertwistdesign\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last week our Friday lecture was from <a href=\"http:\/\/shaneprigmore.blogspot.com\/\" title=\"Shane Prigmore's blog\" target=\"_blank\">Shane Prigmore<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/shannontindle.blogspot.com\/\" title=\"Shannon Tindle's Blog\" target=\"_blank\">Shannon Tindle<\/a>, who (on top of giving us a great lecture and lots of pretty, inspiring drawings) gave us all an assignment due this week: to design Oliver, the Artful Dodger and Fagin from Oliver Twist. They provided us with text samples from the book&#8211; the rest was up to us!<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/tahnee.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/faginblog.jpg\" alt=\"olivertwistfagin\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When I first read the description of Fagin, I immediately started drawing this strange melted candle thing&#8230; I decided to make him a sort of snake-candle that&#8217;d been melted and melts his way along wherever he goes, because he&#8217;s such a slimy creep! So there it is and there you go, the most abstract design presented tonight \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/tahnee.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/theartfuldodgerblog.jpg\" alt=\"olivertwisttheartfuldodgerdesign\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And there&#8217;s the Artful Dodger, AKA Jack Dawkins.
