Rumor has it the owners of this boat got stuck in sand too close to the shore-- they were drunk-- and so they left the boat out there. They never brought it in and never paid the fines, and eventually it had become such an engrained part of the environment (fish making their homes at its base) that they can't take it out without threatening the environment now!
