I watched Lawrence of Arabia the other night. This was a super-quick, super-intuitive drawing, but I liked the result of Lawrence and the camel (even if I ran out of paper)!
And no, riders in LoA didn’t use reigns on their camels, that was pure artistic license. Besides, it runs off the page. Maybe it’s got a horse head?!

I hear that some mathematicians looooove to solve math problems in their free time– for entertainment, like playing video games.
X = mathematician fun
Y = these drawing exercises
I = me
Y + I = X

Hooray for doodles! I’m making pretty good progress on my film; I’m slightly behind schedule, but not too badly! I’m on my 20th scene already– I’ve officially done more animation on this year’s film than I did on VALUE BLiND… And I’m not even half-way through all my scenes yet! Yikes! Time to get back to work.

Here are some cartoony gesture silhouettes based off the 6-year-old me; going to take this character (err… me some 14 years ago) and animate it later.

Well, this is it! I move into CalArts dorms on September 1st… Have me a lovely mess of suitcases and piles of books and art materials and jazz alllllll over the floors, all patiently waiting to be bundled into bags and shoved in the back of a car to be transported up to my new home. This is exciiitingg! Hopefully I’ll still be able to find a few minutes to blog about new projects and art and updates while I’m up there…. I’m going to be BUSY! But for the last day at home, how about a few last ganders at my most recent sketchbook work?

Well, I guess this is “toodles” for about a month– I’ll be flying out to Australia over the course of approximately 22 hours as of tomorrow night, from which point I’ll hop on a cruise ship and sail my way up to San Francisco over the course of 28 days ![]()
Time zones are going to be interesting: the 21st happens twice on the trip ![]()
And yes, I’m bringing a sketchbook and plenty of art materials (and pencils, which hopefully the customs people won’t declare as ’sharp, pointy dangerous weapons’). We’ll be visiting Auckland (NZ), Fiji, Samoa, Rarotonga (Cook Islands), have a few stops in French Polynesia, and a few stops in Hawaii. YAY! Going to be a fuuuuun trip
I’ll blog whenever I can of whatever adventures happen and whatever art happens to seep into my sketchbook
Speaking of which… read on for a bunch of new drawings
