Websites were newfangled at the time, back in ‘98 and ‘99, and my parents suggested that I register Tahnee.com as a domain name and have my own website. I was into computers at the time and enjoyed spending time on the Internet. So, we got the name registered and then I had a big task ahead of me: building the website.

Originally, I had a set of dog characters that I had copyrighted as Tahnee’s Happy Dogs. The plan was to sell THD paraphanelia in the long run, and put up some of my artwork in the meantime.

Alas, none of that ever happened– I instead had fun making random pages of things to interest of me. The site grew tremendously and the Hall of Tahnees was one of the first major additions– a page where other Tahnees of the world could submit a picture and paragraph of info about themselves and I’d upload it for other Tahnees and the rest of the world to see. The Hall of Tahnees still lives today, with over 200 Tahnees from different countries, speaking different languages and with completely different cultures. SO that has been a very interesting experience for me, because I have met so many diverse people through that one element of the site itsef, and have made some good friends that way as well.

Ironically enough, I actually met my first Tahnee many years after Tahnee.com was launched (in 2000, I think it was)– she was going to my school and I met her two weeks before school got out my Junior year in high school. What are the chances of two Tahnees going to the same school? VERY RARE!! What are the chances of two Tahnees being in the same country? Well, not as rare, especially for Australia, the US and Canada.

When Tahnee.org was launched, my Web work was then focused on it as I let the Hall of Tahnees be the only remaining big factor on Tahnee.com. Today, hardly anything has changed from years ago on Tahnee.com, so it just stays the same with the same (very old) data, but hey… Some of it’s useful, like the Photoshop tutorials, the rest is for fun!
